To round off the term, students tackled a
medley of engineering challenges using
STEM kits kindly provided by the IET.
They designed balloon-powered moon
buggies, exploring how engineers might
move equipment across the lunar surface,
and built motor-powered ping pong
flingers, testing and refining their designs
to launch cargo accurately into targets.
Throughout the project, students
demonstrated excellent teamwork,
creativity and problem-solving skills
while thinking like real engineers.
STEM Club has given students the
opportunity to experience the
excitement of science, technology,
engineering and mathematics first-hand.
It has been an exciting year for STEM, with
advances being made by NASA and other
space agencies, pushing the limits of science
in space, and new discoveries here on Earth,
including 31 new species found in the oceans
off Brazil in just two weeks. It has been a
pleasure and a privilege to bring some of this
fabulous science to life with our young
scientists, engineers and mathematicians.
Well done to everyone involved, and we look
forward to more STEM adventures next year!
