Characters, Creativity & Celebration
World Book Day at Queen9s Park High
School was nothing short of magical, as
our whole school community came
together to celebrate amazing stories and
the joy of reading. The corridors burst into
colour as students and staff arrived
dressed as their favourite book
characters. From classic heroes to
modern icons, we had everything from
Alice and the Mad Hatter to Matilda,
Charlie Bucket, an Oompa-Loompa,
Audrey Hepburn, Long John Silver, the
Billionaire Boy, Sweeney Todd,
Napoleon, the shepherd and sheep (from
The Parable of the Lost Sheep in the
Bible), and even an entire fellowship of
Harry Potters in the Maths department!
World Book Day was more than
just a themed celebration; it was a
joyful reminder of the importance
of reading for pleasure.
Mr Jones, Literacy Coordinator
The enthusiasm and effort from everyone
was fantastic to see.
Miss Egden helped ensure the day ran
smoothly and that students felt inspired to
take part. Meanwhile, Ms MJ secured 600
free books thanks to the generosity of TG
Jones in Chester, so every student in Key
Stage 3 could take home a new book.
This thoughtful gesture was met with
huge excitement and reinforced the
school9s commitment to nurturing a
genuine love of reading.
The school was buzzing with activity
throughout the day as Ms MJ organised a
series of book-themed challenges.
