NATIONAL
RACING
SUCCESS
The British Rowing Club Championships is
the pinnacle of the junior club rowing
calendar, bringing together crews from over
169 clubs from across the country for four
days of racing at the National Water Sports
Centre in Nottingham. With competitors
racing from J14 through to J18 across
singles, doubles, pairs, quads and an eight,
it was one of the most ambitious and
rewarding weeks in the club's history.
Chester Regatta - Racing at home
Chester Regatta is always a highlight of the rowing calendar, giving
QPC rowers the chance to compete on home waters in front of
family, friends and supporters along the River Dee.
This year's regatta was our biggest outing of the summer, with crews
competing across a wide range of events from J13 through to senior
categories.
There was plenty to celebrate. Alex and Trystan raced to victory in
the Boys' J14 Double Sculls, while Issy C battled through the rounds
to reach the Girls' J18 Single Sculls final, narrowly missing out on the
top prize.
Eden M and Alice Nalso enjoyed an excellent day, reaching the final
of the Women's Coxless Pair and finishing as runners-up after a
series of strong performances.
Elsewhere, our Girls' J14 Double Sculls and Girls' J14 Coxed Quad
crews both won their semi-finals, while younger athletes gained
valuable experience with finals appearances in the Boys' J13 Double
Sculls and Girls' J13 Coxed Quad. A QPC rower also progressed to
the final of the Boys' J18 Single Sculls, highlighting the strength of
our senior squad.
There were too many competitive performances across the day to
list everyone, but the breadth of the entry, from J13 through to senior
events, is a real reflection of how far the club has come. Thank you
to all who volunteered, marshalled, and supported to help make it
such a successful home regatta.
Ironbridge Regatta - Season ending strong
The Ironbridge Regatta provided another fantastic opportunity for
QPC rowers to test themselves against clubs from across the
Midlands and South of England in the closing weeks of the season.
The standout result came in the Girls' J15 Single Sculls Band 1,
where Alyssa raced superbly to claim victory. There was further
success for the Girls' J15 Coxed Quad, who also secured a win to
add another title to an increasingly impressive season.
QPC athletes also competed strongly in the Girls' J15 Single Sculls
Band 2, Boys' J14 Double Sculls, Girls' J14 Single Sculls, Girls' J14
Coxed Quad, Boys' J13 Coxed Quad and Girls' J13 Coxed Quad,
with many of our younger rowers gaining valuable racing experience
against strong competition.
With two event wins and strong performances across the board,
Ironbridge Regatta was another fantastic day for the club and a great
way to build momentum towards the end of the season.
Congratulations to all the athletes, coaches and supporters involved.
The championships opened strongly on
Friday, with Henry H and Carlos LV taking
on the huge Open J18 Single Sculls field,
while Millie and Phoebe W battled through
three rounds of racing in the Women's J16
Coxless Pair to finish an impressive 11th
overall in Great Britain.
