QPHS magazine - Spring Term 2026 - Magazine - Page 51
This year the club had five crews in action across the
junior categories, producing some outstanding
results. Pride of place goes to our Boys' J17 4x- who
won their event outright with a time of 18:21.9,
finishing comfortably ahead of Royal Chester (2nd,
19:01.5) and Mersey (3rd, 20:56.3). A dominant
performance from the quad (Leigh, Carlos, Achilles,
Henry) and a well-deserved victory.
Our Women's J17 4x- (Eden, Issy, Phoebe and
Millie) also delivered an impressive result, winning
their event with a time of 19:44.3, beating King's
School Chester (2nd, 20:10.5) and York City (3rd,
21:00.6).
Two event wins for the club from the J17 quads is a
wonderful achievement and reflects months of hard
work on the water.
In the J15 category, our Boys' J15 4x+ 'A' crew
finished 3rd (10:53.6) in a competitive field headed
by King's School Chester, and our 'B' crew rounded
out the event in 6th (11:37.2). Our Girls' J15 4x+ 'A'
crew took 2nd place (11:37.2) in the Band 1 event
which was another excellent result, and our 'B' crew
finished 4th (12:49.6) in Band 2.
Another fantastic day for the club. Huge
congratulations to all who raced, and a big thank you
to everyone who volunteered, supported and
cheered on the day.
