A TEAM TO WATCH!
Year 8 & 9 impress in Chester Basketball League
The combined Year 8 and 9
basketball squad delivered an
exciting and determined
performance throughout this
year9s Chester Basketball
League, showcasing teamwork,
passion and growing talent
across every fixture.
The team opened their group
stage matches with a confident
victory over Blacon,
demonstrating sharp offensive
play and a strong defensive
unit. 8Three-Pointer Freddie9
lived up to his nickname early
on, sinking a long-range shot
that set the tone for the match.
Ralph played a crucial role in
maintaining the team9s rhythm,
showing excellent movement
off the ball and helping to link
defence to attack seamlessly.
Their next challenge came
against King9s, one of the
strongest sides in the league
and eventual finalists. Despite
the intensity of the game, Team
QPHS pushed them
throughout. Robin delivered
outstanding defensive
pressure, repeatedly disrupting
King9s fast breaks, while Santi
impressed with quick
transitions and clever
positioning. Although the team
narrowly missed out on a win,
their performance secured
them a well deserved runnersup place in the group.
This progression led them into
the third place playoff against
Tarporley, which proved to
be one of the most exciting
fixtures of the tournament.
Casper showcased excellent
ball-handling, weaving through
defensive traffic, and Hamid
brought impressive strength
on the boards, securing vital
rebounds at both ends of the
court. Alex rounded out the
team effort with composed
passing and smart decisionmaking under pressure.
In a thrilling end to end contest,
Team QPHS narrowly missed
out to a strong Tarporley side,
but the team9s resilience, skill
and unity were clear for all to
see.
A fantastic run and a team to
watch next season!
