Memorial Trophy Recognises Outstanding Athlete
The Michael Ord Award is a prestigious
memorial trophy presented annually to a
sixth form student at Queen9s Park High
School. It celebrates not only exceptional
sporting success, but also the dedication,
leadership, and generosity shown by a
student who gives back to younger
athletes within our school community.
This year, we are delighted to announce
that the Michael Ord Memorial Trophy has
been awarded to Chloe Allen, a Year 13
student whose impact on girls9 football at
QPHS has been nothing short of
remarkable.
Chloe9s personal sporting achievements
speak for themselves. Over recent
seasons she has played a pivotal role in
her team9s success, helping secure both
league and cup victories. Beyond school,
Chloe has represented the Chester
Development Squad, scoring on numerous
occasions, and has earned multiple
appearances for Chester Women9s First
Team, an impressive accomplishment that
highlights her talent, commitment, and
drive.
However, it is Chloe9s work off the pitch
that truly sets her apart. She has devoted
countless hours to supporting and inspiring
younger players, independently running
training sessions, mentoring developing
teams, and acting as a positive role model
for girls9 football across the school. Her
ability to nurture confidence, skill, and
passion in the next generation embodies
the very spirit of this award.
Chloe received the memorial trophy from
Stuart Ord, who established the award in
honour and memory of his son, Michael. It
has now been 33 years since Michael, a
former Queen9s Park High School student
and keen sportsman, tragically passed
away from meningitis at the age of 14.
The presentation took place in a special
gathering in the Conference Room at
QPHS, attended by Stuart Ord and his
partner Sue, alongside staff and Chloe9s
family and friends.
Chloe9s name has now been engraved
onto the honours plaque, joining past
winners dating back to 1994. We are
incredibly proud of her achievements both
in and beyond school. She is a shining
ambassador for her sport and a deserving
recipient of this award.
Chloe now hopes to continue her journey
by studying psychology at Oxford
University, with the ambition of becoming a
sports psychologist, an aspiration that
perfectly reflects her passion for
supporting others.
