SIXTH FORM TASTER DAY
A sneak peek into life beyond Year 11
On Tuesday 4th February, our Year 11 students had the
chance to look ahead and imagine themselves as future Sixth
Formers at our Sixth Form Taster Day. We were also delighted
to welcome visitors from Blacon High and Chester International
School, who joined us as part of our extended QPHS
community.
The Taster Day allowed students to explore a broad range of
subjects and gain a clear understanding of how Sixth Form
study differs from their current GCSE courses. Many took the
chance to try out completely new subjects such as Psychology,
Film Studies, Criminology and UPS (Uniformed Protective
Services), broadening their horizons and discovering potential
pathways for the future.
Beyond the classroom, students enjoyed spending time in our
Sixth Form spaces, including the dedicated common room and
8The Beach9 café (always popular with our Year 12 and 13
students). They also experienced periods of independent study
time, offering a realistic insight into the increased autonomy
and responsibility that sixth form life brings.
The day provided plenty of opportunities for students to meet
our specialist Sixth Form teachers, ask questions and soak up
the atmosphere that makes our Sixth Form such a supportive
and vibrant place to learn.
We were delighted by the enthusiasm and positivity shown by
all the students who took part, and can9t wait to welcome these
students back in September as they take the next step towards
their futures and achieving their goals.
