Own YOUR Future
This year9s National Careers Week focused
on the theme Own YOUR Future,
encouraging students to reflect on where
their learning could take them next.
Throughout the week, students explored
their career aspirations and the different
routes and pathways available to them.
These discussions were closely linked to
the STEPs careers programme delivered
during tutor time, helping students make
meaningful connections between their
current studies and future ambitions.
Activities prompted students to think
carefully about the skills they are
developing and how these can support their
long-term goals. It was fantastic to see
students engaging thoughtfully with the
programme and speaking confidently about
their futures.
It was great to hear so many of
our students talking about
aspirations such as becoming the
next generation of engineers,
doctors, motor mechanics and
firefighters, to name just a few.

VISION TO IMPACT
Careers Leaders Annual Conference
The Careers Leaders Annual Conference 2026 brought
together educators, leaders and system partners to explore
how careers education can drive aspiration, strengthen school
outcomes and support regional and national skills needs. This
year9s theme, From Vision to Impact: Careers Education as the
Engine of Change, set the tone for a dynamic and inspiring
event.
The Queen9s Park High School Year 12 Leadership Team were
delighted to be invited to work alongside The Pledge and
Careers Hub to help manage the conference, held on Tuesday
3rd February at the University of Chester9s Queen9s Park
Campus.
Students played a key role throughout the day, setting up
rooms for interactive sessions, welcoming delegates, serving
refreshments and leading on photography and videography.
They also had valuable opportunities to speak with a wide
range of professionals and share their experiences of careers
education at Queen9s Park High School.
