BASKETBALL SUCCESS
Team crowned Chester & District Champions
The Year 7 basketball team
from QPHS delivered an
outstanding performance at
the Chester and District
Basketball Tournament,
hosted by Chester Catholic
High School. With expert
guidance from our Sixth Form
sports leaders and
experienced basketball
players Murat and Tom, the
team gained valuable
technical insights and
strategic advice throughout
the competition.
The tournament opened with
a tough match against a
strong Catholic High side. Led
by team captain Freddie,
whose leadership and
experience set the tone,
QPHS secured a confident
victory. Their momentum
carried through to the next
game against Bishops
Bluecoat, where Yusef and
Casper9s sharp dribbling and
passing skills helped extend
their winning streak.
Against Christleton, Harry9s all
-round sporting ability shone
through as he outmanoeuvred
the opposition. In the match
against Kings, Georgie9s
agility and rebound control
created scoring opportunities
for his teammates like
Freddie.
With a series of victories
under their belt, QPHS faced
a determined Blacon side for
their final match. Our Queen9s
Park boys found their rhythm,
showcasing fast-paced, skilful
play. Will9s quick passing
turned defence into attack,
catching opponents off guard
and sealing another win.
With five consecutive wins,
QPHS were crowned the
2025 Chester and District
Basketball Champions. It was
heart-warming to see their
success met with enthusiastic
applause from the crowd and
great sportsmanship from
their opponents.
