LEADING THE WAY
Building Outdoor Confidence and Leadership
APST Education and Training is proud
to be working in partnership with
Queen9s Park High School to deliver
the Duke of Edinburgh9s Award (DofE)
across years 9 to 13. As a trusted
outdoor education provider, we bring a
strong foundation of experience,
qualifications, and passion to every
expedition.
APST holds an AALA (Adventurous
Activities Licensing Authority) license,
along with mountain first aid
qualifications. Our team also brings
valuable military experience to the
table, creating a safe, structured, and
supportive environment for students to
thrive in. This professional background
ensures that every DofE programme
Sam and Ash were brilliant
instructors who made the expedition
both educational and fun. They
helped me build confidence in using
maps and compasses - something I’d
struggled with before. The walks
were definitely challenging, but also
really enjoyable, especially with the
great weather we had. Overall, the
experience boosted my confidence
and now I’m genuinely excited for
the qualifying expedition!
Millie, Year 12 student
we run is both effective and inspiring.
Together with QPHS we deliver the
Bronze Award in Year 9, the Silver in
Year 10, and the Gold Award in Year
12. Each level builds on the skills
developed in the last, encouraging
students to grow in confidence,
resilience, and leadership.
Our expeditions make the most of the
UK9s stunning natural landscapes.
Bronze participants explore North
Wales, Silver and Gold training
sessions take place in Mid Wales, and
Silver and Gold qualifying expeditions
are set against the beautiful backdrop
of the Lake District, particularly around
Ullswater.
