Queen’s Park High School never ceases
to disappoint in both the range of talent
and depth of generosity it has!
Mr Yeoman, Assistant Headteacher
GCSE DRAMA
Stars in the making
On Monday 17th March, our Drama
students completed their GCSE
performance examination in front of
a live audience made up of friends
and family. As if the live audience
wasn9t enough, they also had the
presence of a visiting examiner, who
sat front and centre to mark their
two performances.
This year, we were honoured to be
joined by Elenka Bennion and Jess
Mann who are both Creative Learning
Practitioners at Storyhouse, along with
our very own Ellie Jennings (Student
Leadership Team) and the Artistic
Impresario himself, Mr Simon Parker!
After much deliberation (and some very
close calls), the judges decided to award
Third place to Ffion in Year 9 who
performed I Dreamed A Dream from the
musical Les Miserables. Second place
went to Artisanz featuring Faith (Year 11)
who performed the hit Paramore track
Ain9t It Fun. The much coveted first prize
place and the £100 prize voucher went
to Ottilie (Year 8) whose incredible
rendition of Chappel Roan9s, Pink Pony
Club wowed both the judges and the
audience.
There were lots of truly outstanding
performances that night including Stan
(Year 7) who received a special
commendation from the judging panel.
We are very excited to see the talent
coming through the school at the
moment and can9t wait until the return of
V Factor in 2026!
We hope you will join us!
Students performed in combinations
of groups, duologues and even
monologues with one student being
entered for their ability to design and
operate lighting too.
There were some impressive
performances over the course of the
evening with every student giving
their very best and aiming for top
marks towards their final GCSE
grade. We are incredibly proud of
their achievements and eagerly
await their results this summer!
Good Luck!
