QPHS magazine - Spring Term 2025 - Magazine - Page 19
In a thought-provoking whole-school
assembly, Mrs. Cogger explored the
power of words and wisdom,
emphasising how literature shapes our
understanding of the world. Adding a
competitive edge to the reading
initiatives, Mrs. MJ introduced library
loyalty cards, rewarding students with
points for every book they read.
Meanwhile our Page Turners Book
Club sold World Book Day badges to
raise funds for both the World Book
Day charity and the QPHS library,
ensuring our love for books continues
to grow.
A truly special moment was when
every Year 7 and 8 student received
their own book thanks again to the
generosity of WHSmith Chester, giving
them the opportunity to read for
pleasure. In addition to this, they were
also gifted a national book token,
allowing them to choose a book of their
own - a fantastic way to foster a
lifelong love of reading!
As always, World Book Day at QPHS
was immensely popular and a
resounding success, proving that
books are not just pages of words, but
gateways to adventure, knowledge,
and inspiration.
A heartfelt thank you to all the students
and staff whose enthusiasm and hard
work made this such a memorable
event - reminding us all of the power
and joy that stories can bring.
We hope this celebration
inspires every student to
Read Your Way and
continue exploring their
own literary journey.
