SANCTITY OF LIFE
Challenging Perspectives
Following the success of the Christian
Controversies Conference at Chester Cathedral,
we were pleased to welcome Reverend Mike
Smith, Vicar of Hartford, for a follow-up workshop
with our Year 11 GCSE Religious Studies and
Year 12 Ethics and Philosophy students.
The workshop focused on key ethical issues
relating to the Sanctity of Life, specifically
exploring Christian perspectives on abortion and
euthanasia. This session offered students the
opportunity to deepen their understanding,
engage critically with complex viewpoints, and
strengthen their AO2 evaluation skills4a key
component of their exam preparation.
Throughout the session, students were
encouraged to challenge traditional Christian
views respectfully and thoughtfully. The
discussion was rich with meaningful dialogue, with
students raising insightful and challenging
questions.
