In PE, students watched the Christmas Day
Football Match of 1914, a reminder of how
humanity can persist even in times of conflict.
In Languages, classes explored how other
countries mark remembrance, broadening
students9 understanding of its global
significance.
The Sixth Form Leadership Team and
Uniformed Protective Services (UPS) students
played an important role throughout the week,
supporting the cupcake sale and selling
poppies for the Poppy Appeal. UPS students
also prepared for their part in the
Remembrance Day parade. Their teamwork
and maturity set a strong example for the
whole school.
On the day itself, UPS students and staff
gathered in the courtyard for the two-minute
silence. The Last Post played by Sixth Form
student Annabel C on her trombone sounded
and the entire school fell silent as everyone
took a moment to reflect together.
Remembrance Day 2025 at QPHS was a truly
whole school effort, with every year group
contributing in their own way. It was a
thoughtful and respectful event that brought the
QPHS community together to honour the past
and consider the importance of peace today.
What made this year stand
out was not one single activity,
but the combined effort of the
whole school. From Year 7
students experiencing their
first Remembrance Day at
QPHS to Year 13 students
marking their last, every
year group played a part.
