Hello Yellow Day is
such a powerful reminder
that mental health matters.
Seeing our students come
together in a sea of yellow
shows how much we care
for each other. It’s okay to
ask for help, and we’re
always here to listen.

TAKING A STAND
Sixth Formers show Racism the Red Card!
On 15th October, our Sixth Form
centre was awash in red as staff
and students came together to
support Show Racism the Red
Card, the UK9s leading anti-racism
educational charity. The
organisation uses sport, particularly
football, to educate and inspire
young people to challenge racism in
all its forms.
This year marked the 11th
anniversary of 8Wear Red Day9,
which is an annual event held each
October bringing schools,
organisations, and individuals
across the UK together to promote
anti-racism and raise funds for the
charity9s vital work.
On the day, students attended an
informative assembly by Mrs
Prydden, Head of Sixth Form,
highlighting the importance of antiracism and raising awareness of the
impact of discrimination in society.
The session helped students
understand how they can take a
stand in their own communities.
The campaign9s slogan, Show
Racism the Red Card, takes its
inspiration from football, where a
red card is shown to send a player
off the pitch. In this context, it
symbolises rejecting and banishing
racism from our society. The charity
provides workshops and resources
to empower students to challenge
discrimination in their everyday
lives.
