Celebrating Individuality
On Friday 14th November, our QPHS
family once again pulled together to
celebrate our annual Odd Socks Day as
part of Anti-Bullying Week. The day is
organised nationwide by the AntiBullying Alliance (ABA) and serves as a
cheerful reminder of a very important
message: everyone is unique, and it9s
okay to be different.
Across the school, students and staff
proudly wore their brightest, boldest,
most mismatched socks: spotty, stripey,
red, yellow or green, all symbolising
individuality and the importance of
embracing what makes each of us
special. Odd Socks Day is fun, but it
also carries a powerful purpose: raising
awareness of bullying and empowering
children and young people to use their
8Power for Good9 to speak out, support
others and build a world where kindness
wins.
The event helps to mark the start of AntiBullying Week in the UK and reminds us
to champion equality, diversity and
inclusion every day. By taking part, our
school community reinforced the values
we stand for: kindness, respect and
acceptance.
A huge thank you to everyone who
pulled on their odd socks and joined in
to help spread positivity throughout our
corridors. Your enthusiasm and
commitment to inclusion make QPHS a
warm, supportive place for all.
All different, All welcome is the
No Outsiders slogan and it was
wonderful to see this message reflected
in so many students wearing odd socks.
Difference enriches our community and
every single positive contribution will
always feel valued and welcome.

Our annual Hello Yellow Day on
10th October brought a vibrant
splash of colour to QPHS as
students united together and
swapped parts of their uniform for
something yellow to champion an
important message: mental health
matters, and it9s OK to not be OK.
The Hello Yellow campaign,
organised by the charity
YoungMinds, supports World
Mental Health Day and encourages
people to come together in yellow
to raise vital funds and show
children and young people they9re
not alone with their mental health.
This initiative reminds us all of the
support available in school, which
is regularly shared through lessons
and assemblies. Our amazing
Pastoral Support Managers bring a
wealth of experience and go above
and beyond to help students who
need it.
