SHAPING CHESTER9S FUTURE!
Student Leaders join the Mayor!
We are very proud of the members of our
Student Leadership Team who supported
Tayla from Year 13 at the Chester Residents
Association Group meeting with members
from the local council.
Their voices gave a valuable viewpoint of the
One City Plan and will help to shape the
direction of travel for the city of Chester over
the next 20 years.
The plan addresses all aspects of living in
Chester, from housing through to
employment, transport and the environment,
all of which are key issues for our students.
Following on from their valuable discussions,
the local authority have decided to start a
forum for young people to gain direct
feedback on issues relating to the them. The
first of these meetings will take place early in
2026 and it is a real chance for our student
leaders to not only share the voice of our
students within school, but outside too!
Championing Youth Voice
We9re incredibly proud of Tayla, a talented
Year 13 student who continues to impress
both in and beyond the classroom. Recently,
Tayla was announced as the winner of the
2025 Chester Business Club Vision Award,
recognising her dedication, leadership, and
forward-thinking approach.
Following this achievement, Tayla was invited
to join the Westminster Foundation Youth
Voice Panel, where she took part in an
inspiring discussion with an audience of
around 60 people. The panel explored themes
of communication and co-creation, focusing
on how young people can play a more active
role in shaping community projects and
charity work across Chester.
The event highlighted the importance of
listening to youth perspectives and involving
young people in decision-making, something
Tayla spoke passionately about. Her
commitment and enthusiasm reflect the
values we celebrate here at QPHS, and we
couldn9t be prouder of her achievements.
