QPHS magazine - Autumn Term 2025 - Magazine - Page 2
WELCOME
As the days
lengthen and a new
year begins, we
reflect on a term
filled with energy,
achievement, and
opportunity. From
global connections
to local leadership,
our students have
embraced experiences that will 'define their
futures'.
This edition celebrates the planning of our
second trip to Tokyo through the Turing
Scheme, where three schools will unite this
summer to create lifelong memories and
global friendships.
Innovation has thrived in STEM Club, with
Year 7 students exploring everything from
slime to rockets and prosthetics, while Year
9 engaged with industry through the
Unilever Inspire Programme. For our Sixth
Form students, an Academic Writing
workshop with the Royal Literary Fund
offered invaluable skills for life beyond
Queen’s Park High School.
Cultural exchange has been a theme, with
Swedish visitors joining our English and
drama departments and over 70 trainee
teachers from the University of Chester
enriching classroom discussions. Creativity
shines through our Visual Arts and Design
showcase, the sell-out Christmas Concert,
and preparations for our upcoming
production of Oliver!.
Leadership and community spirit remain at
the heart of QPHS, with Student Leaders
joining The Lord Mayor of Chester to shape
the City’s future, and charitable initiatives
supporting causes that matter. Sporting
success has been another standout, from
basketball champions to football triumphs
and exciting developments in rowing.
As always, we are proud of the ambition,
resilience, and generosity shown by our
students. We hope you enjoy flicking
through this edition and celebrating the
achievements that make Queen’s Park High
School such a vibrant place to learn and
grow.
Happy reading!

to Tokyo, students across The Learning
Trust are gearing up for another
adventure of a lifetime! Thanks to the
Turing Scheme, 60 Year 12 students
from Queen9s Park High School,
Chester International School, and
Christleton High School will embark on
a transformative journey to Japan,
immersing themselves in culture,
education, and global connections.
From 5th to 19th July 2026, students

accommodation, and basic meals. This
incredible opportunity will offer work
experience, language exchange, and
unique cultural insights.
