FUTURES
FESTIVAL
Inspiring Change Through Theatre
On Monday 10th November, our
Year 10 GCSE Drama students
had the fantastic opportunity to
take part in the Storyhouse
Futures Festival, a day designed
to explore how we can shape a
more sustainable and socially
responsible world.
The day featured a filmed
performance by the acclaimed
contemporary theatre company
Complicite, followed by
discussions that challenged
students to think deeply about
themes such as social justice,
climate activism, and
environmental change.
Students also heard from guest
speakers from the University of
Chester and representatives of the
Cheshire Archives, who shared
fascinating insights into how
climate change and flooding have
affected the local area over time.
Back at school, these experiences
sparked lively conversations that
will inspire the students9 devised
drama pieces later this year. The
group left the festival motivated
and full of ideas about how theatre
can be used to explore real-world
issues and drive positive change.
It was a privilege to be part of such
a thought-provoking and inspiring
event, and our students are
excited to build on what they9ve
learned as they continue their
creative journey.
